Mothercare - Restoration

*Before*

I bought this Mothercare CoachBuilt Pram from my Local Charity Shop. At 1st glimpse i automatically though ahhh its a Silver Cross Tenby, until obviously i spotted the Mothercare Badge :)... It had a good price £30.00 on it so i thought wow what a bargain. Ive took some pictures of the pram before i did anything to it. It was just grubby, rusty and paintwork dull. Fortunately there was no major work, the Paintwork was intact, hood apron intact and the lining was fantastic!

The lining/Bed area was in great shape, no rips!with the usual remains of last owners i.e crumbs and screws lol. It simply just needed a good old scrub...

This is the side view of the chassis... I didnt really take much notice of the dirt and rust of the pram whilst in the shop, i was too excited that i spotted it so bought it without a good thorough look. When it came to taking the pictures and having a closer inspection i started to think oooo dear was this such a good idea?. I did feel at this point disheartened, but i thought well i might aswell try and rectify this and then see where that takes me.

Again... I thought oh my god this just isnt going to come up nice.... The basket well was attached by white shoe lace string, it was bent and very rusty!!!!....

The wheels just looked really worn lots of rust and dirt :( Just not a lovely Bright white...... Now i was seriously considering on buying New Tyress...

*After*

Here is the end result :D Doesnt it Look lovely and shiny.... I did all the work myself and took me 1 Month from purchasing it, i know a month to do it is quite a long time, but i fitted the restoration of the pram around work, website and family.

Lovely and white :) minus crumbs and the screw lol Looks and smells clean. I used washing up liquid in hot water also armed with my trusty scrubbing brush...Then i used antibacterial spray to make sure it that the surface was 100% clean and safe for a child.

Look at the reflection!!!! It was pointless of me to take a Before picture as the body was just covered in a layer of dirt... Very pleased of how shiny this looks, all i used was car wax, simply rubbed it onto the body in circular motion then with a clean cloth just polished up the body... Looks like new!

WOW, what can i say, i felt proud finding that under all the dirt and rust was this beautiful shiny chassis :) Very Very Pleased...All i used was washing up liquid in hot water armed with a Green Scourer, The Results were Astounding!!!

Basket looks new, i removed those horrid white shoe laces, straightened up the basket with some pliers also sorted out the basket clips... So it fits nice and snug on the chassis :)

Look at my wheels!!!!!!!!! Im so glad i decided not to buy Brand New 1's... I dunked them in the bath with soap powder and washing up liquid, armed with my scrubbing brush... Come up a trreat i also realised that under the dirt the tyres still had they tread marks :) What a very nice surprise :)
